Join us for a dynamic panel discussion exploring the role and importance of socially engaged art and performance.
The panel will be moderated by Kemi Ilesanmi, Executive Director of The Laundromat Project in conversation with: George Emilio Sanchez, writer, director, performer, professor and Director of the Hemispheric Institute; Jennifer Monson, choreographer, performer and Artistic Director of iLAND; and Sydnie L. Mosley, artist-activist, choreographer and founder of SLM Dances.
These dynamic artists and organizers will discuss issues around socially engaged work such as: artistic rigor, equity, community, creative exploration and performance. Following the discussion, Gibney Dance invites you to join us for wine and cheese to continue the conversation in smaller groups.
