Friday’s event includes a keynote speech by renowned public artist Mary Miss followed by brief presentations by iLAB residents – Strataspore, investigating the phenomenon of mushrooms in the city, StEM, Phil Silva and Timon McPhearson’s urban forest mapping project and Jennifer Monson, engaging watersheds and ground water through dance in the Mahomet Aquifer Project. On Saturday we will offer workshops on site in the city, lunch and small group discussion.

This workshop will introduce participants to mapping the urban forest and the performative nature of public tree care
Strataspore – The Fragmental Museum, 107 Suffolk St
We will explore the markets of Chinatown for dried mushrooms and facilitate a discussion about cooking, movement and foraging for wild mushrooms in NYC.
Monson/Watershed – Solar One, 23rd St and the East River
We will explore the properties of water through dance structures that respond to the East River shoreline and our internal fluid systems.
1pm-2pm Lunch provided at 6 E. 16th St 9th Floor
2pm-5pm Discussion and wrap up
